Insight CBT Seminars
1 to 2 day events in leading edge CBT techniques for Psychosis, audiences of 200 to 300 attendees
The Insight CBT Partnership will be hosting a number of thought-leading seminars in a number of
international cities across Europe and America. These seminars will provide key-note presentations on the
latest techniques and publications in CBT for Schizophrenia by leading world experts in addition to practice
based workshops that will help delegates to work with these new techniques.
Many practitioners have had little exposure to the concept of working directly with psychosis using CBT. Seminars are designed to introduce the subject for interested institutions and clinical teams. Seminars are of variable length and subject content and these can be specifically requested by the requesting organiser. Examples include:-
Grand rounds presentations (1 hour) mostly for psychiatric training purposes. These can be demonstrations of the evidence base for CBT in schizophrenia spectrum disorder or a description of case vignettes to demonstrate the key concepts. Some institutions choose a mixture of the two.
2 hour presentations organised for a broad spectrum of mental health professionals. This introductory presentation will include a number of brief video clips demonstrating basic CBT techniques with psychosis in action. There are also role play demonstrations and advice from the seminar leaders on how to use this approach locally with specific patient examples.
Half day to whole day seminars can be arranged for those in particular teams who wish to adopt a whole team approach and who have some basic understanding. Such seminars prove popular with early intervention in psychosis teams, rehabilitation, forensic units, inpatient staff, assertive outreach staff and crisis and home treatment teams. These can be supported by the team membership option from the website.
